For Lumen business voice customers

Lumen not renewing your voice service? We're here to help.

If Lumen has told you your business voice service won't renew, Audian reviews your notice, your contract dates, and your current phone setup. Then we build a migration plan around your timeline and work to keep your existing numbers.

The review is free. We work from your notice and contract, not a general deadline. Timing differs by product and contract.

What Lumen announced

What Lumen's announcement covers

Lumen's public customer communication lists the product groups below. Not every customer in these groups gets a non-renewal notice at the same time. Whether your service is affected, and when, depends on your notice and your contract.

In the announcement

Business voice and communications

  • Commercial, enterprise, wholesale, and public sector voice and VoIP
  • Lumen Cloud Communications
  • Unified Communications and Collaboration
  • NG 911 and Contact Center Intelligence products
Not in the announcement

Network, internet, cloud, security

Lumen says its networking, internet, cloud, and security services are not part of this change. Mass Markets (residential and small business consumer) services are also excluded.

Timing

No single shutdown date

Lumen has not published a decommissioning date. Lumen says existing services continue as contracted for now. Renewals, adds, moves, and changes go through a case-by-case review, so the date that matters is the one in your notice and contract.

What customers are telling us

Businesses have told us Lumen is ending their voice service when their contract expires or comes up for renewal, with no replacement offered. Their reports include hosted voice, POTS lines, and T1/PRI circuits. These are individual customer reports, not one cutoff date or a published Lumen policy. Your notice and contract set your timeline.

How the review works

From notice to cutover, on a plan built around your contract.

We plan the move so your phones keep working through the switch. Final timing depends on number porting and carrier approval.

STEP 01

Read your notice

We go through your Lumen notice and contract dates with you and set a target cutover date ahead of any change in your service terms.

STEP 02

Inventory what you have

Numbers, lines, call flows, auto-attendants, 911 locations, and any fax, alarm, elevator, or door lines. We check each special line for compatibility and any safety requirements at that site.

STEP 03

Design and quote

A written proposal for Audian Hosted Voice or SIP trunking, matched to how your team takes calls today.

STEP 04

Port and cut over

We check which numbers can port, file the port request, and stage phones and call flows. Cutover happens once the port is approved, with our team on the line.

You may be able to keep your Lumen internet

Audian Hosted Voice runs over your existing business internet connection. If you buy internet or network services from Lumen, those are outside this notice. Some voice contracts are bundled with network services, and Lumen reviews related services together when a contract ends early. Ask your account team how changing voice affects anything bundled with it. We can help you read the answer.

FAQ

Lumen voice transition questions

Do I have to switch away from Lumen voice right away?

Lumen says there is no immediate change to current service and no action is required to keep it running as contracted. The pressure comes at renewal, or when you need to add, move, or change service. Starting the review early gives you time to port numbers and schedule cutover without a rush.

Can I keep my business phone numbers?

Yes, in most cases. You authorize the port and provide a recent bill or Customer Service Record (CSR) for the numbers. We check each number's eligibility during the review and tell you about any that can't move before you commit.

What happens to 911 when we move?

We set a dispatchable 911 location for every site and phone as part of setup, in line with Kari's Law and RAY BAUM'S Act. Lumen says its E911, NG 911, and PSAP connectivity have no immediate change.

Is my Lumen internet service ending too?

Lumen's customer communication says its networking, internet, cloud, and security services are not covered by this change. Confirm with your Lumen account team for your account, especially if your voice and network services are on one agreement.

How long does a migration take?

It depends on the number of sites, lines, and special circuits, and on how long the port takes to be approved. You get a written target timeline in the review, planned back from your contract end date.
